Hello RDU Forest Supporters, Last week we updated you on a concrete solution for trails in RDU Forest. And this week we have more exciting news. The Wake County Commissioners officially asked the airport authority to re-consider selling the land that RDU Forest sits on to the Conservation Fund. This is very encouraging, however our work is not done. While we have many allies in local government, not everyone is convinced that preserving RDU Forest is the best possible use for the land. The RDU board has scheduled a meeting for Thursday to discuss land use proposals. Help us spread the news that trails and recreation, not a new rock quarry pit on the border of Umstead State Park, is the right choice.
