As RDCK Board Meetings are not recorded and neither are the specifics of each Directors’ votes, residents requested the following amendment to ensure Director transparency and accountability to the public (aka the citizens who elected them). Note that all abstained votes are automatically recorded as in support. 
 
“Direct Staff to amend Bylaw 2576 to include a provision to record votes opposed, in support and abstained at regular Board meetings, and to be automatically recorded in the minutes.”

According to a 2016 census, we are almost 60,000 people in the RDCK area. We need to show interest in what's happening into our own houses and yards. It is "our voice" to be heard when decisions are made that impact our day to day life.
