
In the RCPCH's January 23rd statement defending their sponsorship decisions for the MENA conference they state:
"Every company that supports a meeting undergoes the RCPCH’s due diligence process, and Nestle and Danone have demonstrated to the due diligence panel that they are committed to upholding the principles of the WHO Code in all territories in which they market breast milk substitutes."
RCPCH's decision to accept these sponsorships not only contravenes the Code directly, but has also led them to defend the actions of infant formula manufacturers even more broadly. Danone and Nestle are both widely documented as violating the Code by independent third party reports:
