Brooklyn animal care and control was visited by an adopter who witnessed that the facility is very cold, dogs were shivering and there was no food or water to be seen.  The shelter also makes the adoption process impossible for the public. I saw a posting of dog named Bentley (a yorkie) who was posted on the urgent page and a friend filled out the application and followed up with a call.  He was told that he was the first to submit an application.  He was then told that the dog would not be available until 1/9/16 upon behavioral evaluation.  He called and followed up again and was told to bring his family to the shelter to meet Bentley.  He was yelled at and told never to come back there again and that the shelter had made a mistake.  He was horrified at what he saw...cold dogs shivering with no food or water.  HIS CHILDREN WERE IN TEARS CRYING AT WHAT THEY SAW AND ASKED "DADDY CAN WE BUY THE DOGS SOME FOOD?"   Complaints have fallen on deaf ears to the Mayor, Risa Weinstock and many others who simply don't care.  This needs to stop now.
