Are the NYPD violating the U.S. Supreme Court case of Griswold v. Connecticut ?

In 1965, Planned Parenthood won a long, hard-fought legal battle to legalise the use of birth control. Up until the landmark Griswold ruling, the state of Connecticut had made it illegal to use any prophylactics since 1879, although the law wasn't always enforced. Even though the Supreme Court struck down that Victorian era law, why is the NYPD now deciding to enforce a law that the Supreme Court has overturned ?

Since the Griswold ruling, it has been legal for people to buy and use prophylactics (or condoms), based on the Supreme Court's reasoning that people had a right to privacy found in the due process clause of the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

What explains why NYPD are arresting LGBT New Yorkers for carrying condoms ? Why are the NYPD pushing Victorian era restrictions on us ?

The illegal and unconstitutional actions by NYPD Commissioner Raymond Kelly and police officers violate our rights to privacy. If people cannot carry and use condoms, what would happen to the incidence of unsafe sex, unwanted pregnancies, and the transmission of STD's ?

As it is, the NYPD are targeting LGBT New Yorkers for carrying condoms :

But people's right to own and use condoms aren't the only rights at risk. Later Supreme Court cases, such as Roe v. Wade and Lawrence v. Texas, at least partially rest on the legal reasoning in Griswold.

Are Commish Kelly and NYPD trying to undo major advancements in civil liberties, women's rights, reproductive rights, and LGBT equality ?  The critical Constituional right of due process, a woman's right to an abortion, and LGBT equality depend on the integrity of the Griswold case.  What is motivating Commish Kelly and the NYPD to undermine Griswold ? 

Stop arresting people for carrying condoms !
