The Issue

The cost of Childcare in Nevada is at its highest historical threshold. Our working-class families should not feel helpless, conflicted, or hindered amid their silent fiscal struggles. Whether regarding financial stability or educational assistance, the well-being of children as young as 6 months old remains gravely at risk. Join Nevada for Children as we advocate for the CCFRFA to be ratified across our districts.

The CCFRFA, the Childcare for Working Families Act, aims to support financially conflicted families through childcare guidance. By empowering our lawmakers to raise wages, lower childcare costs, and redirect critical resources to youth education, we can all contribute to making Nevada better. Via this oversight, families are no longer expected to pay more than 7% of their annual income on childcare.

Moreover, this legislation plans to empower higher wages amongst educators, embolden workforce participation, and collectively abolish poverty cycles. While advocates have strongly supported its establishment, the CCFRFA has not been implemented, but rather “stalled’ by the Republican-controlled congressional district in D.C. (Potter 25: Child Care for Working Families Act Stalled in Congress). While our politicians are busy flipping dollar bills and enjoying luxury, our working-class families are becoming increasingly strained. Our voices in the midst of political chaos are the only forces that will inspire significant change, which is why signing like-minded petitions, frequent protesting, and contacting local representatives concerning said issues is undoubtedly imperative.
