As you all are aware, the only direct commercial flight that was started from India(Delhi) to Sweden(Stockholm) by Air India approximately 4 years ago has unfortunately been shelved during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Over the years, many Swedish companies have started hiring Indians, mostly software professionals, for their high tech jobs. If you look at the statistics, India stands top in number of work permits granted during the past few years. Therefore, there is substantial business traffic between India and Stockholm. Also Swedish companies are more and more outsourcing their business to India, which has increased the traffic potential between India and Stockholm. Consequently, Indians visiting their families and friends in Sweden also has increased. 

Currently we are left with no choice, but travel with a one stop flight, which almost takes a whole day. This is extremely inconvenient for elderly parents, families with small children & now even more so with different countries & states in India having their own quarantine/PCR testing requirements resulting in chaos & confusion on account of ever changing rules & laws in the wake of the pandemic .

Therefore, we wish to appeal to the Indian Embassy in Stockholm to request the Ministry of Civil Aviation in India to start a direct flight from Stockholm to Bengaluru
