this petition is to show support for our fellow crewman the carpenter's crews, who are currently being oppressed by not being dignified what they are; Carpenter's Crews, they toil below decks so that we can live, show your support and lets give them proper status as Carpenter's Crews. 

Seriously though, implementing Carpenter's Crew does have benefits:

• Better assigning in OW. Before, Red only used Quarter Gunner/Quartermaster as a rank in between Carpenter's Mate and Able Rate. This was a bit problematic when assigning in OW but it was not too bad. Now, with White using the rank, along with the many people they have at the rank, assigning in OW has become worse, especially since in some cases one will need to assign very quickly.
• Actually makes progression uniform across all the branches (Sailing and Gunnery). Balance is good
• cooler uniforms, carpenter's mates will actually get their blue coat which they deserve and carpenter's crews will get their vest which they also deserve
