I made this petition to make sure that the band, Why Don’t We, is free from their abusive manager, David. This issue affects both Why Don’t We and everyone David has hurt over the years. Please sign and share with others! 

Why Don’t We has been a band for just about 5 years now and their music and personalities have helped me out of a dark place many times. I am so sad to say that the people who helped me, were and are getting hurt themselves.

David Loeffler has been abusing the boys for most of their time as a band. He has made them log up to 18 hours a day of work when they were both teens and young adults. They had strict rules they had to follow and were so scared of him that they had to hide eating gushers! Like, what?! The 5 boys had to share 2 small bedrooms with Corbyn and Jack in one room on air mattress and Zach, Daniel, and Jonah in the other, when there was an extra, unused, bedroom upstairs. Zach would sometimes sleep UNDER Daniel and Jonah’s bed! This went on for over a YEAR! 

There was a coded lock on all of the doors that the boys didn't know the code to so they were monitored every second of the day and weren't allowed to leave the house without permission! They had a 3 strike rule in the house and were convinced that If they did something bad like leave the bathroom light on, that they would be done as a band. David wouldn’t even let them eat what they wanted! Zach was 17 when he was yelled at for wanting a Cesar salad and was told he hasn’t earned the right to eat one!

 The band wasn’t even formed how they said it was. Their managers needed a group of people to help jumpstart a new app they were looking for and used the boys. They had everything they needed, the looks, the following, and the talent. They were asked to make a band!

Then we have the unbelievable lyric video. David made the boys run around the desert NAKED and he filmed them and put lyrics on the video to cover them. Zach was still 17! It’s literally a video of them running naked! And since Zach was 17, that’s pretty much child p*rn! David even put it on t-shirts and sold them as merch!

We all believed it was Randy who was abusing the boys but in reality it was David! And I feel so bad for blaming Randy. He took all of the blame! Randy isn’t perfect but I believe he is an amazing manager for the boys. We can’t let David keep abusing the boys! We can’t! Why Don’t We has agreed to stop playing music together and stop posting on social media until they are free from Davis’s abuse.
