100 may not seem a lot, but this was always going to be a hard sell.
Most of the world’s population do not get the link between mass patenting of molecular compounds, and the obscene money-grab we have seen during the blockbuster era.

EXPLAIN WHAT YOU KNOW TO OTHERS
If you get the opportunity to explain it to friends and colleagues, it can be explained as so. The three things needed to get a patent are:
- A chicken wire diagram of the molecule or description of the living thing (eg monoclonal antibody)
- Mode of Action
- Stacks of cash to pay the patent lawyers
Numbers 1 and 3 are no problem for pharma companies.
Number 2 is a BIG problem and is pure guesswork, based on a vague theory of the biological activity that will take place when the drug enters the body.
Take Alzheimer’s for example. Over the last 15 years, there have been over 30 late-stage clinical trial failures in Alzheimer’s - all based on failed theories that the Patent Office waved through.
HAVE YOU GUESSED THE SOLUTION YET?
I suspect you have now worked it out, but just in case, I'll spell it out:
MORE EVIDENCE IS REQURED BEFORE A PATENT IS AWARDED
The technology to produce much of the evidence already exists, just it is not being used or even developed. Will tell you more about that in the next update - the diagram shows the timelines and failure rates in the industry as it is today - 10,000 molecules, one drug!

Going back to the hard sell, anything you can do to get more signatures, spread the word and grow the cause will be mightily appreciated.
