THE BIG PHARMA GOLIATH SEEMS UNBEATABLE

The Big Pharma Goliath we know today seems impenetrable, but then so did the real Goliath when he faced David.

What most people don't know is that Goliath was a sitting duck, ready to be plucked—the quote below from Malcolm Gladwell's excellent book, David and Goliath, explains:

"Goliath had as much chance against David" the historian Robert Dohrenwend writes, "as any Bronze Age warrior with a sword would have had against an [opponent] armed with a .45 automatic pistol."

DAVID WAS A SLINGER WHILE GOLIATH COULD HARDLY MOVE

You see, David was a highly skilled slinger. Quoting from the same book "An experienced slinger could kill or seriously injure a target at a distance of up to two hundred yards."

Goliath was almost totally covered with armour and weaponry, which made it incredibly difficult to move - and the weak spot between his eyes could not be covered, so David slayed Goliath!

WHAT IS BIG PHARMA'S WEAK SPOT?

No business ever survives over the long-term unless it consistently satisfies its customer base. Big Pharma has used patents and marketing muscle to defy business gravity for a very long time, as this 90 second video explains.

If you managed to watch, you will be far better informed now than you were before; also, you will know that I, and some Friends of Medicines Modernisation, wrote a white paper which has gone to the Health & Social Care Committee (HSCCOM), along with a one-page request for an inquiry into patent law.

If an inquiry were to be held, it would mean exposing Big Pharma's weak spot. Then the David's could swing into action knowing exactly what needed to change, and how to do it.
