Bring Back The Laurel Plan

Ramapo got rid of their Laurel Plan which is a cheaper option for students living in Laurel who can make their own food in the Laurel kitchen or, for students that have dietary restrictions, or just don't want to swipe into Birch or Pavilion. All the other meal plans are over $1000 which is not affordable or even worth it if you don't even want to swipe into the dining halls. Ramapo is just looking for our money, probably because they just re-did Birch which was probably a very expensive job (and probably not even necessary). Res life said that the reason behind this is that a half kitchen is not enough to feed us, which is ridiculous because we all cook food in our rooms (using the microwave) and have cars to go off campus and get food from places or groceries. Also, if someone should run out of their flex dollars, they can easily add more (the exact amount they think they need) and this will still be more affordable that the other plans. It should be our choice on how much we want to eat and how much Ramapo food we want. Without the Laurel Plan which is $400, the next cheapest plan is $1,430 (and it only comes with 100 flex dollars and 10 meal swipes) In addition, the reason students may starve (as res life is concerned about) is that many students do not like going to the dining halls because they either don't have time, don't like the food, or are unable to eat most of the food due to dietary restrictions, and on the weekends, Birch (one of the dining halls) is the only source of food that is open the whole day, which is not adequate.
So, maybe if we get enough people to sign this and get Ramapo's attention we can bring back the Laurel Plan, a cheaper option, or a plan similar to what The Village has to benefit all of us.
