So if you grew up in the 1900’s, you probably drove a car or truck with a manual transmission. Recently, companies like Dodge and Jeep have stopped making new cars and trucks with a manual transmission. If you’ve ever driven one, you know how fun it is. And there are definitely upsides to automatic transmissions, but driving manual transmission vehicles doesn’t have to be an everyday thing, it should just be an option for those if us who want it. On the official Ram Trucks site, you can only pick the Automatic transmission in any new models. Out of 3,000 cars, only 100 or so have manual transmissions, according to CarGurus. 

If you’re like me then you want to have a car with a manual transmission. It doesn’t have to be a daily driver, but if there’s no option for it, that takes all of the fun out of choosing your own vehicle and picking your preferences.

All we need to fix this problem is for big companies like RAM to make vehicles with manual transmissions again.

The reason that I want these to come back so much is my parents. They were born in the 70s and their first cars were manuals. They told us they always wanted to teach us, but they were never able to buy one. It’s so hard for me to find them, but if we started making them again, it would be much easier.

Also, if you work on vehicles and would like to work on transmissions and repair them yourself, then a manual would be the best option for you. They’re cheap, and easier to fix than an automatic transmission, because there’s not as much that keeps it running as the automatic, which means they are more likely to not fail.
