Rally to Defend Polser Elementary!
The Issue
**The platform will ask for money but it is NOT required, and it doesn't affect our petition. Your signature is all we need!**
As Polser parents, voters, community members and residents, we stand together with pride in Polser Elementary. We are proud of our students, proud of our teachers, proud of our principal and staff, and proud of the community that has been built. It is no surprise that Polser is the ONLY school that met all measures of the efficiency counsel. Yet we are still inexplicably under consideration to have the campus retired.
Our campus had a new playground built this year. Our students perform well and have earned Recognized status through the state. They are learning STEM curriculum which is proven to aid in their future success. It would take years for LISD to replace the progress being made at our school. The STEM program was designed to raise scores and increase enrollment. It has been successful and projections show it will continue to be. Polser has become a destination elementary school, but this success is seemingly being held against us because of the number of transfers who desire to attend. The investment in becoming a STEM campus was designed to increase enrollment.
Polser Elementary is one of a few schools projected increased enrollment over the next 5 years, and is a beloved community by students and parents alike. It would be a detriment to everyone involved including the ISD to retire this campus.
It is vital that our Polser community come together to voice support for keeping our campus together and open for the future. Sign our petition to send a strong message to those elected to do what is best for our school district. A strong response can and does make a difference. Take a stand for the welfare of our children, our teachers, our staff, our community, and our future.
