Hey Amazon – please give us the "no packaging of packaging" checkbox.
The Issue
How much packaging material, space, energy, emissions and storage space could we save if we, the consumers/orderers, could decide whether the packaging around the packaging is really necessary.
A true example: the healing cream in the plastic tube, in the packaging, in a box 10 times the size, surrounded by bubble wrap.
Solution: When ordering, you decide whether this product really needs such an outer packaging or whether a simple envelope or paper wrap is sufficient.
It could look like this (in non-juristic words):
o Just wrap-option*.
(* I agree if the packaging might get a bit of damage. It doesn't matter with this product. And I won't send it back for that either, all right.)
If you want such an option to save a lot of waste and energy, you can sign here. Let's start with Amazon to invite them to become a role model for sustainable mail order business and e-commerce.
Thank you.
