Soheil Antonio Mojarrad was shot and killed by Officer W.B. Edwards outside Overtime Sports Pub on April 20, 2019 after a report that he was trespassing at a Sheetz gas station and accused of stealing a cell phone. Edwards was wearing a body camera, but it was not turned on at the time, when he had the encounter with Soheil at a nearby gas station by the Sheetz. 

Although Officer Edwards reported feeling like his life was threatened, he reported that the saw Soheil pull a knife after his pocket. He only attempted to de-escalate the situation for less than a minute. After his lousy attempt, Officer W.B. Edwards his chest, torso, pelvis, buttocks and thigh--striking several organs with bullets, including his heart. Overall, Officer W.B. Edwards shot Soheil Antonio Mojarrad 8 times. 

We are demanding that this case be reopened by the Raleigh Police Department. In addition, we would like Officer W.B. Edwards fired immediately and charged. Soheil suffered from traumatic brain injury compounded my mental illness. He was a kind soul who did not deserve to be shot in the heart and killed for the accusation of stealing a cell phone.
