Dear Citizens of Singapore,

Over the last few years, incidences of Sexual Crime and Assault have risen starkly in our City-State (take a look at the cases of Sexual Crime happening on our university campuses). This is a worrying trend, and will only get worse in the future if we do nothing to stop it. 

Almost every other day, cases of Sexual Crime are being reported by mainstream news outlets such as The Straits Times, Channel News Asia, etc. (Conduct an experiment for yourself and see if over the next one week, if there is at least ONE case of Sexual Crime being reported in the news).

Even more worrying is that 40% of sexual assault cases from 2017 to 2019 involved victims below the age of 16, according to this Straits Times Article. Perhaps, this could be due to the fact that children these days are exposed to Social Media at a younger age.

It is time for a change. Singapore was built on the backs of migrant laborers and the foresight of early pioneers. In a short span of time,  we have developed into a world-class society admired by many countries around the world. If we were to continue our status as a world-class society, we need to ensure that Singapore remains a safe place for us to work and play. Help us to be part of that change today.
