April 28, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi said, will be remembered as a “historic day” in the development journey of India. He claimed that every single village in the country was now electrified. Less than a year left for the next Lok Sabha elections, it is pertinent, we question the government of it's failure to fulfill promises and feed us lies. Narendra Modi stormed to victory in 2014 on pledges to improve the lives of Indians, including bringing power to every citizen.

But Lumding is facing a severe problem of growing instances of power failure for a long decade.

Yes, our Lumding is always reeling under massive power cuts. In this scorching heat, due to power cuts, people are facing extreme hardship. We believe this government is clear that the private power distribution companies (APDCL) are not doing their job properly. There is an urgent need to strictly fix their accountability.

Respected Chief Minister Of Assam Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, respected Power Minister Of Assam Shri Tapan Kr. Gogoi & Shri Rajen Gohain our MP, you also know, this year the summer is extremely hot so the senior citizens are facing it very difficult to tackle the problem. The problem of current supply also leads to some other illegal activities in our locality. Moreover, in Lumding there are many students, institutions, offices but, this irregularity in electric supply is causing obstacles in their daily work.

It, however, appears that the government is shying away from fixing the accountability of discoms and at times one gets an impression that the government is trying to protect these discoms. On this pretext power tariffs have been hiked from time to time and despite all this if these discoms are failing to provide atleast 20-hours electricity supply, they should be dealt with sternly.

Lumdingians have already given many complaints to our local authority. They are always giving us empty promises and doing nothing. So we're requesting you to look into this matter personally. If you do the needful then Lumding Daily shall be very much thankful to you.
You are therefore requested to strictly enforce the accountability of these discoms, so that people of Lumding are provided with immediate relief.
