Hello Everyone, 

Thank you to everyone’s efforts in and out of out program. After many meetings with higher ups, Human Resources and other staff, the city has raised the wages for all Instructors and Second in Command to Site coordinator positions. The city has extended our wage to the end of the eligible pay range. This being said After School Program Instructors should be getting paid $16.15 per hour and Second in Command staff should be getting paid $18.71 per hour. 

We are not done here. We still need to advocate for a higher wage. Although a raise was given we are still not as competitive as our neighboring school districts for similar positions.

The next step is to have staff of our program attend a city council meeting and demand that the city and the district rewrite their contract to include a higher budget for wages for our staff, that would positively affect all of our staff in the Oxnard Scholars After School Program and ASES. A date to attend a city council meeting will be determined soon!
