Hi everyone, It’s been a while since my last update, and since then there’s been big changes that affect our petition. First of all though, thanks so much to everyone for writing to your local election candidates and asking them to get behind our campaign. Thanks to all of you, 30 MPs elected last week have promised to help win the changes we need to keep our children safe in school. And one thing has already changed: the name of the person we’re petitioning! Edward Timpson, who was the Minister responsible, lost his seat in the election. It’s a bit of a shame in a way, as he had already agreed to meet with us. It just means though we’ll have to keep the pressure up on whoever his replacement is to work with us and make sure schools have the policies they need to keep children safe. Once I’ve heard who that is, I’ll let you know. Thanks again for everyone’s support over the past year. We’ve made a lot of progress, and even if this sets us back a bit, I’m still hopeful that we’ll get there soon.
