Dear Rail Supporters,
It is time that we get together and discuss the prospects of rectivating the railway line noth of Armidale for train operations, the challenges we face and potential solutions.
To this end, I am oganising a Zoom seminar on 6th November from 5.00pm to 8.00pm.
I expect several guest speakers to povide their perspectives on this very important subject in the first 90 minutes and discussion to follow in the next 90 minutes.
As New England is a vast area and not everyone can travel to a face to face meeting in Armidale, Glen Innes or Tenterfield, I decided the best avenue to meet is by Zoom. I acknowledge that not all can join due to technical difficulties and lack of familiarity with zoom technology.
If this event is successful, it can lead to further foums face to face in the future.
Such forums are important because not all train suppoters are upoto date with what we do behind the scenes to promote the ailway line as a key artery for future connectivity, mobility and sustainability of our region.
In our campaign to preserve the rail corridor for future trains we need to take the community with us especially at a time when Amidale and Glen Innes councils ae determined to move ahead with plans to remove the rail line to build a rail trail.
I hope many of you will be able to join!
Impotant: If you like to join the zoom forum, it is necessary to register by 5.00pm November 5th by sending an email to me with your name, address and contact number. Email: siri.gamage1951@gmail.com
