Critical Qs for the GM, ARC about His Plans for the Rail Trail.

You may have seen the recent article by Lydia Roberts in Northern Daily Leader(22 Sept. 2025)about the General Manager, ARC James Roncon stating that he wants to get the rail trail back on track. 

We need to ask the Geneal manager, ARC some Qs. 

1. How much rate payers funds have been spent on the rail trail preliminary work ? 

2. How much money has been received and pomised by renewable energy companies for the rail trail construction or maintenance? 

3. Were the negotiations between ARC and Renewable Energy companies transparent or authorised by the full council? 

4. What is the process of entertaining contributions from such companies and allocating them for community projects in the LG area? 

5. How much funds received from such companies have been allocated to any other community projects except the rail trail? 

6. Why is it that the ARC is not finalising the Terms of Reference and guiding principles for the allocation of such funds received from renewable energy companies for the greater good of the community? 

7. Has the council applied for grants to build the rail trail and details including how many, dolla amount and the status of application/s 8. When will the General manager update the full council about all of the above? 

Since April-May 2024, no update has been provided to the full council?
