item 9.1 in the Armidale Regional Council meeting agenda (24th W'day at 4.00pm)gives a lengthy outline of Council's intention to proceed with the rail trail in stages, starting with Armidale to Dumeresq. Council claims to have some funding from a renewable energy developer for on going maintenance costs. This appears an attempt to destroy the railway line in staged small segments, rather like what happened on the Northern Rivers. Why can't the Council expand Boorolong road and extend the already existing cycle track from the town to University? Trains North members and supporters are encouraged to attend the meeting next Wedenesday afternoon. Please converge near the Council building at 3.30pm. Those who can't attend in person may be able to watch proceedings by video link.
