Meeting Decision-makers and Candidates for the Local Council elections

Friends,
As we have passed the 1000 signature mark, we need to reflect on the next steps while more signatures are being collected.
1. We need to. meet decision-makers such as the local MPs, Mayors, Councillors and even the candidates planning to contest the forthcoming local government elections on December 4th.
2. FInd ways to educate members of the local community about the risks of Rail Trail proposal through various means e.g. stalls in weekend markets, leaflets.
3. Write letters and emails to the decision-makers outlining our concerns(I am happy to help with main points of cocern if you need writing points).
4. Write articles in the local press. Do interviews in local radio and TV.
5. Use social media further to spread the message and educate those who are not familier with the Council proposal.
Can you suggest additional measures?
Please let me know in which future action do you like to get involved?
We expect the NSW government will bring an amendment the Transport Act to close the northern rail line anytime this year in order to facilitate the construction of NE Rail Trail. Will inform you if I come to know about this at the earliest. I want you to contact the local MPs and Mayors etc at that time to express hour concerns further.
