The runoff election for 20th Ward alderman is this Tuesday. Ald. Willie Cochran is no longer alderman, having pled guilty to criminal charges. The mayor has the power to appoint an interim alderman, but on Tuesday, we will know the will of the people. Wait until then to appoint or do not appoint at all. The 20th Ward needs to be in the hands of the people, not connected political operators.
