A very quick update for you.

It appears that LBC planning department have closed the comments section regarding the proposed development.

I am querying this as I am of the understanding we are allowed more than 3.5 weeks to comment. I believe it's up to 8 weeks.

In the meantime, do please keep sharing the petition - and commenting on the council's planning portal. It's so important to have as much feedback as possible for the council to consider. See the attached link to read current objection letters. 

You don't have to live near the buildings - or indeed in Luton. I know these sorts of proposals are happening all over the country.
