A Metro Link from Gurgaon to Sec 21 Dwarka would have been a boon for the residents of Gurgaon to easy traffic jams, reduce pollution, IGI Connectivity and reaching the last milestone areas of Delhi using metro. In October 2018, GMDA had asked residents to suggestions within 15 days, to which 84% had said the longer route should be implemented. (source: https://goo.gl/QveSej ). The public feedback collected over 15 days indicated that Gurgaon residents prefer a metro route between Huda City Centre to Dwarka Sector 21. According to the GMDA, the consultants for the Metro project, over 400 ‘substantive’ comments were received from public in this regard ( source: https://goo.gl/4L7QHh ) Now going against the feedback of people this Govt. suddenly changed the plans without giving any logical reasoning to OPT OUT from HUDA City Centre to Dwarka Sec 21 Route. Noida, which is around 50km away from the IGI airport, was at the cusp of getting a direct Metro connectivity to the airport. On the other hand, Gurgaon, despite being so close to the airport, has been waiting indefinitely for this crucial access. This is a retrograde step by Govt. of Haryana. The Metro link with Dwarka connectivity would have helped address the traffic problems faced by this city every day.
