Dear Supporters,
As per Jan 2015 the monthly ridership of Yellow Line Delhi-Gurgaon Metro was 25,768,995 with an average of 831,258 daily commuters.
Huda Citi Center's alone monthly ridership was 1,332,644 with an average ridership of 42,989 daily commuters.

The Delhi Metro continued to break more ridership records during the year 2016 and further established itself as the transportation backbone of the city. On 17th August, over 33 lakh people (33, 36,550) travelled on the Metro for the first time ever throughout the day, which happened to be the eve of Rakshbandhan. A few days earlier, on 12th August, the Airport Line also broke the 50,000 mark with 50,077 passengers travelling by it in a day. Source: https://goo.gl/Qlv1KL
A survey by Indian Institute of Planning and Management earlier this year supports this argument. As against the expected capacity of 8,000 vehicles, more than 21,000 cars use the carriageway every day. Source: https://goo.gl/xKo0U7
However the much hyped POD TAXI would have a carrying capacity of over 3,000 passengers per hour with 4 to 6 persons per POD Taxi Car. Do you think it can be an alternate to metro. With such a high ridership of metro and high vehicular movement how can the Govt. even think of doing away with the plan of Metro for NH8 connectivity and instead bring very low capacity POD Taxi project (with 4 to 6 persons per POD Taxi Car)?
We have suffered enough, don't want our coming generations to suffer. We need a robust metro connectivity which should serve the purpose of commuters which POD Taxi can never do. POD Taxi is like a picnic spot, more of a leasure ride, it's not something which the daily high number of commuters need. The need of an hour is a robust metro on NH8 to breakaway daily traffic jams and over increasing pollution.
Do you think going by the numbets mentioned above, POD Taxi on NH8 can ever be an alternate to Metro? We urge Central & State Govts. to do some reality check during peak office hours in Metro before thinking about replacing Metro with POD Taxi.
