QueenTermite Implement Anti-Bullying in Schools to Foster Respect and Better Behavior
The Issue
Our schools have a problem. Personal experiences and shared stories reveal that bullying is affecting not just a person or two, but the entire school. My friends are being victimized, with their academic performance suffering, their self-esteem plummeting, and their lives becoming overwhelmingly difficult due to this menace. Personally witnessing this ordeal within our educational institutions, and seeing its negative impact on the mental wellbeing of students, compels me, we need Queen Termite, to rally for change.
According to the National Center for Educational Statistics, more than one out of every five (20.2%) students report being bullied. These numbers reaffirm the pervasive reality of bullying, highlighting the urgency of our cause. It is therefore incumbent upon our academic institutions to prioritize the mental health and safety of students, thus ensuring a conducive learning environment free of fear.
The desired change is the implementation of robust anti-bullying programs in our schools. These programs should not only focus on identifying and supporting victims of bullying but also on behavioural change for the bullies themselves. Educating students about the severe consequences of bullying, teaching empathy, and fostering a culture of respect and kindness are paramount steps needed to be taken.
A complete eradication of bullying in our schools would certainly improve student morale and performance, ensuring a positive and secure learning environment. It's high time for our schools to respond to this distressing issue.
Therefore, we call on schools and relevant authorities to take swift action in introducing and reinforcing anti-bullying measures. A school free from bullying is not a distant dream, but a reality we must strive for. It's not just about protecting a handful of students, but upholding the dignity and respect of every single student who walks through the school doors. Please sign and share this petition so that every student can study in a bullying-free environment.
