Stop housing development in koala habitat

Stop housing development in koala habitat
The issue
Somerset Regional Council has approved development of 147 house blocks in an area listed as secondary koala habitat - a block of land that has been release site for rescued wildlife over the last 10 years. This development will decimate the koala population and all other native wildlife species currently finding sanctuary there.
Somerset Regional Council says it cannot reverse its decision, that it is now up to the State Government. However, the State Government says it is a local issue.
We have lost too many koalas and other native species through the devastating bushfires - please, let's reverse this development decision.
