Copy of my enquiry
My enquiry is in regards to Qld's hospital parking fees.
I amongst thousands of fellow Queenslanders are disgusted with the profiteering at mostly Brisbane's major hospitals.
Specifically -
•3 car parks owned and operated by Mater Hospital including the Lady Cilento Children's Hospital
•Royal Brisbane Hospital owned and operated by Metro Carpark (Butterfield street)
•Prince Charles car park - owned and operated by Metro Parking
•Princess Alexandra Hospital - owned and operated by Metro parking
•Also Sunshine Coast University Hospital - owned and operated by Point Parking
•Gold Coast University Hospital - owned and operated by Secure Parking
These hospitals charge exorbitant rates & are profiting from the very tax payers who pay for the building and running of Qhealth facilities.
Many patients/carers/family are forced to use these car parks due to time limits and physical limitations of metered street parking, including those with disability parking permits as street access is not always accessible for wheelchairs.
I request an investigation into the profits car park operators are making as well as full disclosure of the amount that's allocated to Qld Health & the hospitals charities.
I request a regulation to prevent hospital car parking profiteering.
Sick & disadvantaged patients should not be ripped off for profit
