Have you been driving illegally? Have you received your car registration renewal? Do you check when it due? Are you driving around with no protection, of having NO CTP due to being unregistered? Got time to check your rego on line, to see if you have renewed?

My dad was driving my son to school, when he was pulled over by a police officer who detected the car had not been registered.  My dad received a fine from the police officer, and was not allowed to drive until the car rego was paid.  The car is in my name, which then I had to call the Transport Department to quickly pay it.  I did not receive any renewal notice, or a reminder.......At a family gathering with siblings and other relatives, we all talked about how many of us have had trouble with this new system of not getting the coloured rego stickers and not knowing when it due. I notice other family members have been pulled over by police, exactly same way as my father - a fine later and they had to renew straight away.

What happen to me, was not just one of our family cars - but our business -two other vehicles are not registered - as the post mail was some how not coming to us some how ????? 

What happens if you don't know when your car was to be renewed, and you drive and have an accident?  You have no third party insurance

CTP insurance covers you for compensation claims made by other people who were injured in a car accident, If you were at fault for the accident.  CTP insurance is to cover other drivers, passengers, pedestrians, motorcyclists/cyclists - basically anybody hurt as a result of the accident, except you, if you are the at fault driver.

In Queensland it is compulsory for all vehicles to have CTP insurance. Normally when you renew your car registration the CTP occurs - as well with the payment.

So the question is - have you got you mail from the transport department to renew your car rego? You definitely paid your rego, as you don't get a reminder and no coloured stickers to put on your window?

With this petition - it is to bring back, the colour rego labels, stop government making more revenue raising, with the police monitoring the cars to raise revenue for simply human errors or maybe a raising revenue hidden agenda....... of us the commuters of the road - who maybe didn't get the renewal in the mail, or a reminder, or just waiting for the colour label to come...... Bring back the colour labels

The most important thing is to cover ourselves and others if we have an accident .....
