Gecko to support Tamborine Community

I had a meeting last week with "Gecko" (Environmental Protection Group based on the Gold Coast) who were at least partially responsible for stopping the Broadwater Casino development. The group has now written letters to State & Federal Ministers to highlight the issues and let them know they are now involved with the issue and will be active to control commercial groundwater extraction and get Tamborine & Springbrook listed as "Water Managed Areas" under the State Water Act. The Minister is not currently interested in doing this or amending Water Plans to include groundwater management. I have had discussions with Dept of Environment and Lancare who have both agreed to look for any data, studies, assessments or reports we can use to identify Flora or Fauna impacts over the last 10-20 years.
