We did it! After multiple rejections, yesterday, QLD Health finally granted us permission to visit my dad. This petition and the unwavering support of all 55,000+ of you has gone a long way in making this happen. People power has pushed the Premiers of NSW and QLD, and even the Prime Minister to take notice of my family’s plight. Today, we will be taking a private plane to Gold Coast, wearing full PPE gear and following all COVID-19 protocols. If everything goes smoothly, we should be in Gold Coast later this afternoon and can begin making arrangements to see my dad. I hope our family’s fight can set a precedent for others. I hope Australian leaders will balance the need for safety with compassion in difficult situations, like they did for us. Thank you again for all the support. We will be forever grateful to all of you who stood by our family. I can’t wait to hug my dad. He’s been holding on for us. All of this will be worth it when we can say goodbye to my dad.
