After all that has happened in the last 10 days, todays first visit with my Dad was wonderful, surreal, happy, sad, poignant, bitter sweet and beautiful. 

My Dad sincerely wanted to thank each and every one of you for supporting our petition. But we told him to thank 55 000 people might take a little more time than either he or any of us have! 

We are visiting him tomorrow again and then again on Monday before we finish our quarantine on Tuesday. 

So this is the last update and we finally just want to send the biggest thanks to all of you who signed this petition, without whom this outcome would not have been possible.

In a small way we might have set a precedent or at least provided a case example of how quarantine exemptions on compassionate grounds in Queensland might look in the future for fully vaccinated people.
