FOLKS, we have been waiting to see how the Government positions itself in relation to calls for a Royal Commission rather than a much narrower 'Inquiry' into integrity. Today's news is revealing.

We support a Royal Commission with all of the protections that would afford a whistle-blower. Not many people are aware that there are harsh penalties for whistle-blowers unless evidence or submissions are made before a Royal Commission. One has to question the move to keep the narrow parameters of an Inquiry given the disclosures that have been made in the media in recent times. The 'Inquiry' will apparently be looking at the use of QPS officers seconded to the Crime and Corruption Commission, that I will be assisting a civilian to make a submission to, however members of the public are wondering (quite rightly), just what do they have to hide by limiting the parameters of this Inquiry?
