FOLKS - Today I bring you a story about a CURRENTLY SERVING SERGEANT MATTHEW GROOM - a piece of dirt found guilty today of choking a WOMEN WHO WAS HANDCUFFED AT THE TIME!
This piece of dirt had NO CONVICTION RECORDED and was just FINED $1,500!
No conviction recorded means he gets to keep his job! YEP YOU GOT THAT RIGHT HE GETS TO KEEP HIS JOB!
On top of that, who can spot what is wrong with this situation?
WELL, the Queensland Government has seen fit to add an additional offence in the Family Violence Act, where it is an aggravating circumstance to choke a victim - it has been recognised that the potential for death following a choking event is high. YET HERE WE HAVE A BRAVE PIECE OF DIRT - A COP - CHOKING A WOMEN WHO WAS HANDCUFFED!
Why is it then not an aggravating circumstance for a cop to choke a victim, WHILE RESTRAINED?
It is VERY obvious that the Courts are very lenient on police officers who commit heinous crimes. Had this been a civilian committing a crime similar to this, they would go to jail - NO QUESTIONS ASKED FOLKS!
There are simply NO circumstances where it is OK for a police officer to assault a person in custody. It does not matter if they are angry, provoked, frustrated, or anything like that. NO EXCUSE WHAT SO EVER. If you are a police officer reading this update, if you have felt angry, frustrated, or provoked - time to get out of the job, pure and simple case. If you can't hack it - get out.
It is abundantly clear that Queensland needs a Civilian Oversight Committee.to oversee cases like this. It does not matter what the victim was charged with here, FIRSTLY it should NEVER happen, and SECONDLY - a police officer found guilty like this SHOULD NEVER BE ALLOWED TO KEEP HIS JOB!
I'll say it again - THIS COP IS A LOW LIFE PIECE OF DIRT AND SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO KEEP HIS JOB.
QPS has denied there is a culture of violence, racism, bigotry among their ranks recently. Well, here is the evidence!
FOLKS I will keep on posting stories like his as they become available - but you know what? I wonder where A Current Affair and Channel 9 News are around this story? You got it, don't want to do a story like this because they don't want to damage their relationship with QPS to get a front line seat to arrest stories as demonstrated over the last couple of years. SOMETHING STINKS IN QPS - AND IT IS FOUL FOLKS!
