Hi everyone, a little while ago I put up an update that proposed QPS fudge the media releases by deliberately allowing media houses that use paywall media releases to minimise the damage that bad stories have on QPS.

The attached story is interesting, since a while ago it was reported in the media that many non operational police were redeployed to assist with border checks and other duties during the pandemic, INCLUDING STAFF FROM THEIR INTERNAL INVESTIGATIONS UNIT!

Now this story is only 3 months old, reporting somewhat less police before the courts than in previous years.

The Internal Investigations Unit at QPS have an interesting approach to 'handling complaints'. The first thing they ask you (I know this from personal experience) is "DO YOU HAVE A RECORDING OR VIDEO". If you don't, the investigation is closed as 'not able to be substantiated'. They certainly do NOT go looking for evidence. Even if you do have evidence, they rarely prosecute police officers, unless they can't get away with it. The many case studies that have reached the media attest to this FACT folks. Also, statistics don't lie. Take the case in point of police officers caught out accessing QPrime - a huge percentage of them are NOT prosecuted! This is in spite of not only committing a crime, but also violating the privacy of civilians! In other words, violating HUMAN RIGHTS!

I would go so far as to say, the minimising of criminal offences by Queensland Police is a corruption issue at its very core, and one that needs CIVILIAN OVERSIGHT.

FOLKS while we are marching on towards 39,000 signatures, we need to really get this petition going. When it reaches 50,000 I will be re-approaching the Member of Parliament that showed interest when it was sitting at 10,000 - as well as the MPs he suggested I contact.

We can only achieve proper reform with people power folks - the PEOPLE that the Police 'Service' is supposed to be serving.
