PRIVACY CONCERNS HAVE BEEN THERE FOR YEARS - SO JUST WHAT ARE 'THEY' DOING ABOUT IT?
FOLKS - you just have to question this situation with the Queensland Police. As the attached article demonstrates, they KNOW about the issue, but it is STILL ongoing, and as another article demonstrates in the Guardian, 90% of these Police Criminal Offenders get away with it!!!!
The Commissioner is BIG ON TALK - but LACKS ANY MEANINGFUL ACTION.
In fact, a few questions need to be answered, in that case resolved recently where a police officer released illegally obtained information to the abuser of a domestic violence victim - the police actually paid for legal representation to try and BLOCK her application in QCAT!
SO HOW SERIOUS ARE THEY? They seem quite comfortable 'riding out the negative media coverage' because for YEARS the general population have been conditioned into accepting a percentage of bad behaviour by police officers.
If the Commissioner and the State Government were truly fair dinkum about doing something about this issue, police found illegally accessing information would be SACKED - no questions, no excuses, and the officer doing this criminal behaviour should be responsible for compensating their victims out of their own pockets, with the whole process from complaint to compensation oversighted by a committee of Civilians.
