At a press conference on Friday, May 22, 2020, Quebec's Minister of Culture and Communications, Nathalie Roy, remained silent on concrete measures of reopening the performing arts sector. An open letter entitled "Pour les arts vivants" (For the sake of the live performing arts), was published on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 which calls for an immediate meeting with the Minister. 

This meeting is critical in order for her to hear the crucial demands that are already circulating regarding the rescue and recovery plans which have been tabled by the professional associations. The letter also wants artists to be consulted as the experts on issues affecting the revival of the living arts, an important sector of Quebec's economy.

The open letter, written by Olivier Kemeid and signed by many artists, is accompanied by a petition whose objective is to collect 40,000 signatures to give a strong voice to the thousands of people who work daily to bring the arts to life. We invite you to add your name to ours.
