Qualifications for the approbation for psychotherapists in Radboud's Bachelor programme

The Issue

Since 2020, there is a new law in Germany concerning regulations and qualifications for becoming a psychotherapist in Germany. Formerly, education for becoming a psychotherapist started after completing the Master's programme. Because of the new law, this education already starts during the Master's. With this change, it is likely that the Dutch Bachelor of Psychology does not qualify for getting an approbation after finishing the Clinical Master in Germany

This is what we would like to change.

In order to acquire the necessary qualifications for the approbation as a psychotherapist in Germany (according to German law), Radboud University could offer voluntary courses. These courses can make it possible to continue the way of becoming a psychotherapist in Germany

As of now, Radboud University is not aware of the demand that we are sure exists, as a lot of students from Radboud wish to continue their career as a psychotherapist in Germany.

This petition wishes to raise attention to the many students, who's futures are affected. It is necessary for these courses to be constructed ASAP, as this path will be persistent.
