Hi all, Yesterday I went to Canberra as part of a delegation of families bereaved by suicide - campaigning for national mental health reform!! It was such a success - the Shadow Minister for Mental Health Jan McLucas is backing my petition for education on suicide and mental health reform announcing that bipartisan support for a national suicide prevention plan is needed immediately! She said “I invite the Health Minister Sussan Ley to work with us on developing a strategy that will stop so many people, particularly young people, from needlessly taking their own lives.” Here’s her full statement - http://on.fb.me/1J0Shsn We met with a number of politicians - sharing our experience with the broken mental health system and why it needs urgent reforming. Senator Glenn Lazarus is also backing my change.org petition and plans to meet with me next week. My message is clear and national - we absolutely cannot let suicide continue to be the leading cause of death among our young people!!!! We ARE getting somewhere here - thank you for all the signatures on my change.org petition that have given me the strength and energy to influence our government on mental health. Kerrie xx p.s if you haven’t yet signed my NATIONAL petition here is the link - https://www.change.org/p/tony-abbott-and-sussan-ley-i-want-all-a-e-staff-to-be-get-education-on-recognising-and-treating-suicidal-patients?recruiter=167926384&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=facebook&utm_campaign=share_facebook_responsive&utm_term=mob-xs-share_petition-no_msg
