For all those that Love to use Coffee Junction and admire the work that they do with youngsters with varying disabilities in helping and assisting them into real employment, there is a very real prospect of it closing before the end of July due to it failing to hit the targets set by the Governors at the Queen Alexandra College in Harbourne.

When it was first set up by the then director for development Ray Piggott it was stated that profit would never be an issue, it was a charity and the students integrating into work within a community environment was the only aim.

It seems that those are now no longer the main aims. Some of the staff are looking to present some alternative proposals to the Governors rather than full closure. If you would like to help them or offer suggestions call in and see them (and buy coffee and cake) as one of the individuals that assisted with bringing this business to Bearwood , along with Bob Piper, I believe it has become an integral part of our community and we had much bigger plans for the students to move on for more experience once Lightwoods House opens up in the Autumn....

Bearwood and beyond it's over to you.
