Recently, Governor Wolf has announced that all Pennsylvania schools are closed for the remainder of the year. In light of this decision, we have created this petition to bring awareness to the option of a delayed prom or graduation rather than a virtual replacement or permanent cancellation. The Class of 2020 has worked hard throughout their high school careers with the promise of prom and graduation to round out their senior year. These are once in a lifetime experiences not only looked forward to by students, but by parents as well who have stood by and supported their child through it all. While virtual gatherings may work as an adequate replacement for classes, it will not serve as an adequate replacement for such cherished and irreplaceable events.

By signing this petition, you are advocating that the school evaluates all options, considers all obstacles, and does everything in their power to ensure that the Class of 2020 earns a proper, in-person prom and graduation.
