First and foremost please remember to share, as when we are presenting the petition we are more effective in numbers.

As we are all well aware there has been a huge increase in stolen vehicles and ram raids and shop hold ups and burglaries.

This petition is a start, to get the Whangarei Mayor to step up and help protect our community people, property and our business owners! 

Business owners are getting targeted BUT it’s also drastically affected our community with innocent hardworking people having to consistently fork out money to replace car windows, damage to vehicles or stolen written off vehicles. There are a huge number of people who can’t afford insurance nor the premium to replace such things. The budget comes from there food bill or power bill . It has even cost people their jobs as they now don’t have a vehicle to get to work. Some individuals have  replaced stolen and damaged vehicles with new ones only to get hit again a second time..we have all had enough!

Wether it’s an increase in security patrol , more CCTV cameras (esp suburban areas) or just a plan that gets actioned so we know that something is getting done to put a stop to what is now turning Whangarei and it’s reputation into a thug of a place to live in.

It’s all well the council putting its resources and  our home owners money into tourism in Whangarei, but what is the point when it becomes a place people do not want to stop at!

We as a community have to start somewhere. Nobody got anywhere by just sitting back and waiting for something different to happen!

We need to make it known, that we have all had enough and it’s time to do something about it!

This needs to be addressed asap, and a plan put in place to help the community.

Sheryl Mai (Whangarei Mayor) has been addressed in this petition and will be receiving every update as it is signed.

If we turn a blind eye nothing will change, infact it will get worse and it may get to the point where innocent people are going to get seriously injured (they already are)!
