February 15 -- Flag Day inspires patriotic action

Happy Flag Day! The Canadian flag's 53rd anniversary gives us inspiration to wave and display one of the world's great symbols of freedom and equality. Yet our own government disrespects the Maple Leaf by continually relegating it to second-class status, beneath royal and vice-regal flags. On our flag's birthday, let's give it a gift -- tell Ottawa to change the rules that demote and remove our cherished national banner. If you've signed this petition, great. Now, share it in your social networks. Contact the prime minister's office directly, and Heritage Minister Melanie Joly. Get in touch with your MP, and tell them about our antiquated flag rules. Only by speaking up will Ottawa hear the call of the patriot to 'Put the Canadian flag first'.
