After much anticipation, the REDROOM has finally reopened this semester following remodeling to remove asbestos.

In spite of the fanfare, visiting students looking to take the edge off back-to-back lectures will quickly notice the campus watering hole has lost its magic.

At first, the new REDROOM appears to lack some indescribable quality that made a drink at 2pm on a Wednesday sound so reasonable. Upon closer inspection however, just one thing is missing: the asbestos.

Please UQ Union, on behalf of this aggrieved student and all signatories of this petition, put the asbestos back into the REDROOM. It’s the heart of a beloved UQ treasure.
