Put Lucas Crommel On Administrative Leave
The Issue
Lucas Cromell, the current Principal of River View Middle School, needs to be put on administrative leave until it is known that he is not a danger to the children who go to River View Middle School.
Cromell has a history of allegations regarding sexually harassing female staff members and students. There have been reports of him cornering female colleagues, asking them how to perform sexual acts, and asking for demonstrations on multiple occasions. There have also been reports that Cromell has sent sexually explicit messages to a female student and asked another to be his sugar baby after she had graduated.
One of the teachers reported his messages with a student to Superintendent Hess, who, in response, accused her of spreading drama. Then, in the 2014-2015 school year, four teachers provided the Board of Education and the Superintendent evidence of Lucas Cromell’s sexual harassment and sexting to a student. Cromell faced no consequences and was promoted to Associate Principal shortly after.
In 2016, Cromell moved to the Kaukauna Area School District and became the Associate Principal of River View Middle School, later becoming Principal in 2021 despite his past allegations being clear.
KASD has made it obvious that they don’t care about the safety of their staff or students by hiring Cromell and allowing this behavior to continue and giving him the highest role in a school full of children. KASD will not do anything to change his position until we do something.
Why this is important? The reports made by staff at Oconto Falls High School being ignored have given us a reason to believe that KASD does not respect women, and if Cromell does happen to sexually harass a student or staff member of River View, it will likely be swept under the rug just like the other instances of sexual exploitation at Oconto Falls.
By signing the petition, you are making it clear that we will not accept having Cromell in our district until we are certain he is not dangerous. With numbers, it will bring attention to the cause and make our voices louder. We need to band together and protect our women and children.
