Put Energy Drinks in Delta College Vending Machines

Put Energy Drinks in Delta College Vending Machines
The Issue
As a student juggling multiple responsibilities, including work, parenting, and attending school, caffeine is crucial for my daily function. Many students, like me, rely on a quick boost of energy to stay alert and focused during classes. Finding the time to stop and get an energy drink before school and/or after school is often not possible, leading to fatigue and decreased cognitive function.
Being tired makes it harder for the brain to process and retain information, directly impacting our education and ability to succeed. With so many students in similar situations, introducing energy drinks to the vending machines at school could significantly enhance our learning experience.
Currently, students have limited access to caffeinated beverages on campus, primarily restricted to sodas and coffee, which do not suffice for everyone’s preferences or needs. Energy drinks offer a quick and effective alternative, fitting seamlessly into busy schedules while providing a needed energy boost.
Of course, implementing this change must consider health and moderation. Educating students on the appropriate consumption of energy drinks is essential to ensure we use them responsibly. Schools can also set guidelines on the types and quantities available to manage consumption effectively.
By adding energy drinks to vending machines, schools acknowledge the real needs of their students, paving the way for a more conducive learning environment. We urge the administration to consider this request, supporting the well-being and academic performance of its students.
Sign this petition to help students at Delta College have access to energy drinks when they need a boost to perform their best.
