The Issue

Living in Nashville, I've witnessed firsthand the incredible impact Dolly Parton has had on our community and beyond. She is more than just a beloved music icon; she is a remarkable force for good, known for her philanthropy, advocacy for literacy, and her tireless support for education and children's welfare. Dolly’s generous initiatives, like the Imagination Library, have given millions of books to children worldwide, fostering a love of reading and learning.

Despite Dolly’s immense contributions and accolades, no American female has graced the face of our country's currency. This is not just a testament to her enduring legacy but an opportunity to inspire millions more by featuring her on the $20 bill.

America has a rich history of celebrating heroes and leaders on its currency, but it has overlooked the contributions of women. Changing the $20 bill to feature Dolly Parton would not only correct this oversight by honoring an individual whose work epitomizes the American spirit of generosity and compassion but would also acknowledge the invaluable role women have played in shaping our nation.

Additionally, in our rapidly evolving society, it’s crucial that our symbols reflect our values. Paying tribute to someone known for bridging divides with kindness, creativity, and determination highlights the importance of these values.

I am calling upon the U.S. Department of the Treasury to lead this change. It's time to put a face on our currency that reflects the ideals of equality and progress. Together, let's advocate for an America that honors all its influential figures, regardless of gender.

Please join me in this important initiative to honor Dolly Parton and, in doing so, honor all women. Sign this petition to change the $20 bill to Dolly Parton. Together, we can send a strong message for change.
